Baby Hunter Birth – Okinawa Birth Photography

Baby Hunter… well, he made his mommy wait for him some extra time. After having her previous babies before her due days, everyone was convinced Hunter would arrive early too… But boy was everyone wrong… Due date came and went… another  few days too… It was a Friday morning that I received a phone call that things started happening and that we should meet at the hospital. I was just getting my son ready for school, so I just made sure that I packed few extra snacks for him in case I would be late to pick him up. I was excited and relieved that the baby was coming that day as the forecast for the weekend was: TYPHOON SANBA :( I really didn’t want to miss this birth because of the weather.

I got to the hospital a couple of minutes pass 8am. Found Lacey at one of the Triage rooms where she was in so much pain already. The whole ward was full therefore the nurses were trying to convince her that she wasn’t in active labor and that she had to go and walk for a while (as they tried to empty one of the rooms for her). But mommy knows best, she knew she wouldn’t be able to walk as the baby was coming. A little while later, Lacey got to move into a labor room and get her epidural.

As a standard procedure, I took my bag and went to the waiting room while they administered the anesthesia.  Normally it takes about 30-45minutes till I am allowed back in… I waited just over an hour and started wondering what happened… and all of the sudden I hear ‘code white’ sound through the hospital speakers… lots of doctors and nurses running to the L&D ward… I walked into the reception area and was told that Mr Hunter started causing trouble and was born by emergency c section.  The whole situation made me really emotional and shaky as it reminded me of my son’s birth day remind me  how lucky I was to have an amazing doctor who saved both of us. As I sat and tried to collect myself, I was finally called in to see the mommy, daddy and the baby :) I made it in time to witness the foot prints getting done and then the first feed. I stayed another 30 minutes before I let mommy and daddy enjoy their little bundle of job in peace.
