Addison’s Mermaid Cake Smash | Lakenheath Newborn Photographer

Addison’s mommy gave me the task of designing an underwater mermaid purple, gold and aqua cake smash. All that know me know that I am not a big fan of purple so it is always so hard to make things look right in my head when it comes to purple. Until about 11pm the night before the session, I sat on the floor in front of the aqua seamless paper roll put up on the backdrop stand and just stared at it. Nothing was coming to my mind. Nothing seemed right. I even Facetimed a friend, fellow photographer to seek inspiration. She mentioned the crate and it all started coming together. I was on a roll,, getting everything up and ready. Before too long I was all set up and ready for the session. Despite being one of the hardest set ups, it is one of my favorites to date!
